By mixing of Siberian husky, Alaskan husky, Schipperke and American Eskimo dog, who shared similar features, the Alaskan Klee Kai was born until she released them to the public in 1988. As Ms. Spurlin has now retired from breeding Alaskan Klee Kai, the dogs are very rare and highly searched for.

The Mini Husky Hybrid (Alaskan Klee Kai) weigh between 10 to 40 pounds (4.5 to 18 kg), come in a variety of colors and resemble Siberian husky more than Alaskan husky. They are bred in 3 different sizes: standard (Above 15 inches up to and including 17 inches), miniature (Above 13 inches up to and including 15 inches) and toy (Up to and including 13 inches).
